Recent port strikes on the US East and Gulf Coasts have left a backlog of 775,000 containers, potentially affecting USA preorder shipping times. We're actively monitoring the situation and will keep you updated on any changes to your order.
Hey there, Joolca family!
We hope this message finds you well.
We wanted to take a moment to touch base about our USA preorders and share some news that's been making waves in the shipping world.
What's Been Happening?
You might have heard about the recent dockworkers' strike that hit the US East and Gulf Coast ports. It was quite a big deal – the first major port strike in almost 50 years!
- The strike kicked off on October 1, 2024, involving about 50,000 members of the International Longshoremen's Association (ILA).
- It affected 14 major ports from Maine all the way down to Texas.
- Thankfully, it only lasted three days before a tentative agreement was reached on October 3.

How Does This Affect Joolca?
Now, you're probably wondering, "What does this mean for my Joolca gear?" Well, here's the thing:
- These ports handle about half of all containerized goods coming into the US. That's a lot of stuff!
- Even though the strike is over, there's still a pretty big backlog of cargo to process.
- As of October 3rd, there were 775,000 containers (that's 775,000 TEUs or Twenty-foot Equivalent Units) waiting in backlog, which will take some time to catch up and process.
- This means we're looking at some extra delays in getting our presale products to you.
What We're Doing About It
We want you to know that we're working hard to stay on top of the situation:
- We're checking our shipments weekly and communicating with our couriers for updates.
- We'll keep you as informed as possible from our end, but please understand we are at the mercy of these delays.
- We're just as eager as you are to get your Joolca products into your hands.
A Big Thank You
