Yes, you can connect HOTTAP to a garden tap or hose. Just so you know, HOTTAP uses 1/2" BSP quick-connect fittings.
Connecting to a garden tap or garden hose
In the US, garden hoses usually have 3/4" threaded fittings. To connect one to your HOTTAP, you'll need an adapter. There are two options, both available at most hardware stores:
Option 1
The simplest method is to remove the blue water inlet quick-connector and attach an adapter to allow for a direct connection with your garden hose.
A suitable adapter is something like this one and the water inlet will now look like this. Note: use thread tape for a secure and watertight fit.
Option 2
This option is great if you want to keep the quick-connect feature.
With a standard 3/4" garden hose, you can get an adapter kit to convert both ends to quick-connect. This lets you connect directly to the HOTTAP and extend your pump’s reach.
Something like this (US) or this (AU) will work well, but any similar brand will also work.
Is the water pressure too high for the HOTTAP?
You can safely use your HOTTAP with your local council or town water supply. For example, you can safely use the HOTTAP with your garden tap at home.
The HOTTAP can handle up to 900kPa (or 130 PSI) of water pressure.
