Yes, you can use wild water sources like a river or lake with the HOTTAP Go. 

HOTTAP Go features a two-stage filtration system - a removable debris filter for larger particles and a fine mesh filter that protects the internals for long-term reliability.

We don't recommend using seawater with the HOTTAP Go.
